{"id":986,"date":"2015-08-30T15:54:44","date_gmt":"2015-08-30T02:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rogerdennis.com\/ideaport\/?p=986"},"modified":"2016-07-01T15:55:58","modified_gmt":"2016-07-01T02:55:58","slug":"scanning-to-stop-being-ubered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rogerdennis.com\/ideaport\/?p=986","title":{"rendered":"Scanning to stop being &#8216;Ubered&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the last couple of years, and connected to the work on Sensing City, I&#8217;ve been advising <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infratil.co.nz\" target=\"_blank\">Infratil<\/a> on technology advances that could disrupt their business or provide opportunity.\u00a0 This was referenced in the annual meeting where the Chair, Mark Tume said<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;the challenge was to stop their investments from energy to the retirement sector getting &#8220;Uber-ed&#8221; or being able to &#8220;Uber&#8221; some else, in a reference to the Uber taxi service.
